Wildfire Los Angeles

Don't miss the April Fire Safe Council Meeting! Get the Agenda!

MySafe:LA and L.A. Council District 4 Walk and Talk Wildfire

Some of the most at-risk areas from wildfire are in the canyons of the City of Los Angeles. This past July 22nd, MySafe:LA partnered with Council District 4 Councilwoman Nithya Raman to door knock homes in Beachwood Canyon in L.A. Ms. Raman was fully engaged, speaking to anyone who said hello – and sharing her concerns about wildfire, the steps that MySafe:LA and the Los Angeles City Fire Department are taking to support resident via the “Wildfire Resilience Alliance,” as well as the steps she’s taking to develop policy to make homes safer in canyon areas.

In addition to discussing wildfire issues, MySafe:LA members installed free smoke alarms in several homes that were lacking functional alarms. Anytime our team members get a chance to see homes in need of fire safety support, they jump right in.

It was a productive day – but just the first of many in Council District 4.
