Wildfire Los Angeles

Brentwood Wildfire Resource & Safety Fair Set for April 25

Wildfire risk in Los Angeles is no longer seasonal — it is year-round. For residents living near the wildland-urban interface, especially in communities adjacent to Mandeville Canyon and Pacific Palisades, preparation is not optional — it is essential.

That’s why MySafe:LA, in collaboration with the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD)State Senator Ben AllenCounty Supervisor Lindsay Horvath, and City Councilwoman Traci Park, is proud to announce the next in our series of Community Wildfire Resource & Education Fairs.

📍 XXX School – Sunset Blvd., Brentwood

(Adjacent to Brentwood, Mandeville Canyon and Pacific Palisades)

This free community event brings together leading wildfire safety experts, vetted service providers, public officials, and local residents — all focused on one goal: helping you protect your home, family, and neighborhood.

Why This Fair Matters

Brentwood and surrounding communities sit directly adjacent to high fire severity zones. Wind-driven wildfire and ember cast events can move rapidly through canyon corridors and threaten homes with little notice.

Whether you are:

  • Rebuilding or upgrading your home
  • Concerned about defensible space requirements
  • Interested in fire-resistant building materials
  • Seeking guidance on evacuation readiness
  • Looking to organize your neighborhood

This event is designed for you.

What You’ll Experience

Expert-Led Classes

Throughout the day, attendees can participate in practical, easy-to-understand educational sessions including:

  • Home Hardening 101 – Proven ways to reduce your home’s vulnerability to ember intrusion and radiant heat
  • What You Need to Know About Evacuations – How alerts work, what to expect, and how to prepare before the order comes
  • How to Become an NFPA Firewise Community – Step-by-step guidance for neighborhoods that want to reduce collective risk
Wildfire Resource & Vendor Expo

Meet reputable firms and organizations that provide:

  • Defensible space services
  • Vegetation management
  • Ember-resistant vents and building materials
  • Fire-resistant landscaping guidance
  • Insurance and risk mitigation support
  • Community risk reduction tools

This is an opportunity to ask direct questions and evaluate solutions before you need them.

Free Fire Safety Books for Kids

Every child attending with a parent will receive a free fire safety book, helping families continue the conversation at home.

Prizes and Giveaways

Community engagement matters — and we’ll have a variety of raffle prizes and safety-related giveaways throughout the day.

FREE Lunch & Dessert for All Attendees

In true community spirit, MySafe:LA is providing complimentary lunch and dessert for everyone who attends. Come learn, connect, and enjoy a meal with your neighbors.

A Community Effort

Wildfire resilience is not built by government alone. It requires informed homeowners, engaged neighborhoods, strong partnerships, and proactive preparation.

With the support of the LAFD and our regional leaders, this fair represents a shared commitment to protecting Brentwood, Mandeville Canyon, Pacific Palisades, and the broader Westside community.

Don’t Wait for Smoke in the Sky

The best time to prepare for wildfire is before red flag warnings are issued — before winds accelerate — and before evacuation orders are given.
