Wildfire Los Angeles

Wildfire Safety Fair at the Autry Museum

MySafe:LA, in collaboration with Councilwoman Nithya Raman of Los Angeles City Council District 4 and the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD), will host a major wildfire preparedness event on Saturday, June 22, 2025, at the Autry Museum of the American West, located adjacent to Griffith Park.

The event, titled WILDFIRE L.A., runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is free to the public. It is designed to educate, engage, and empower Angelenos of all ages in wildfire risk reduction and safety preparedness.

Event Features:

  • Adult Preparedness Sessions:

Discover the ten inexpensive steps for home hardening, understand the changing landscape of homeowners’ insurance following L.A.’s recent fires, learn how to prepare for evacuations, and explore how fire retardant solutions can offer additional protection.

  • Kids Safety Camp:

Children can participate in interactive fire safety activities and receive a free fire safety book (Franklin Stays Safe) while also meeting the award-winning author, Jenn Bailey, in person. Kids will also learn how to create a GO bag, what wildfire is all about, how to take care of pets, and how to perform hands-only CPR.

  • Live Demonstrations:

• LAFD: Meet your firefighters and explore emergency vehicles and fire suppression equipment.
• Department of Water and Power (DWP): Understand wildfire mitigation in utility infrastructure.
• MySafe:LA and partners: Explore wildfire response tools, safety kits, and educational displays.

• Fire extinguisher training with live demonstrations

  • Free Community Incentives:

• Complimentary lunch for all attendees
• Free parking on site
• Entry into a raffle for thousands of dollars in prizes
