More About the Event
The Wildfire Safety Fair, hosted by MySafe:LA in collaboration with Los Angeles Council District 4 and the LAFD Operations West Bureau, will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles. This free, all-day community event is designed to raise wildfire awareness and promote resilience education among residents across Los Angeles, particularly those living in high-risk areas near the wildland-urban interface. The fair offers an engaging mix of educational opportunities, hands-on experiences, and family-friendly activities—all to equip Angelenos with the tools and knowledge they need to prepare for wildfire emergencies.

The event will include a series of sit-down classes for adults, where attendees can learn from experts about topics such as home hardening, defensible space, emergency evacuation plans, and fire behavior. These sessions are ideal for homeowners, renters, and anyone interested in reducing wildfire risk at home and in their neighborhoods. For young attendees, there will be a vibrant “Kids’ Safety Camp,” featuring interactive games, safety demonstrations, and firefighter meet-and-greets designed to teach children essential fire safety skills in a fun and engaging way.
Throughout the day, a Vendor Village will showcase products and services designed to enhance wildfire preparedness. Attendees can meet with specialists offering fire-resistant building materials, home retrofit solutions, defensible landscaping guidance, and emergency supply kits. This is a valuable opportunity for residents to explore real-world options for making their homes safer and more resilient.
The fair will also feature live demonstrations from a wide range of public safety and community organizations, including the LAFD, LAPD, MySafe:LA, LA Recreation and Parks, and other local and regional partners. Visitors will witness real-time displays of firefighting tools and tactics, emergency response protocols, and neighborhood readiness strategies—all meant to foster a deeper understanding of what it takes to protect homes and communities during a wildfire event.

In addition to its educational programming, the Wildfire Safety Fair provides a festive and welcoming environment, offering free admission to the Autry Museum, complimentary parking, complimentary food, and prizes and giveaways throughout the day. There’s ample parking on-site, and museum access allows attendees to enjoy exhibits on the American West while participating in the fair’s activities.
Overall, this event is a comprehensive, inclusive, and enjoyable way for Los Angeles residents to learn about wildfire preparedness while connecting with their neighbors and local public safety agencies. With something for everyone—adults, children, homeowners, renters, and civic leaders alike—the Wildfire Safety Fair promises to be both informative and fun. By attending, participants will take meaningful steps toward making their homes, families, and communities more resilient in the face of increasing wildfire threats.
